Opportunity

Brunswick Group is seeking an Account Director to bolster its growing Digital practice in our Washington, D.C. or New York office. Brunswick’s Digital team leverages expertise in content creation, campaign management, analytics, and digital strategy to help organizations achieve their communications goals. From building LinkedIn strategy for Fortune 50 CEOs, to digital amplification during the world’s largest IPOs, to finding cyber hackers during online breaches, you'll be working to support our clients across all sectors and geographies.

About the Role

  • Client Contribution & Handling
    • Manage the development of high-quality digital client deliverables, playing a key role in document creation and quality control
    • Demonstrate a deep understanding of clients’ business and issues
    • Serve as a digital expert to advise clients on strategic communication campaigns
    • Function as a workflow project manager and digital lead on broader client teams
    • Perform real-time analysis of emerging issues on social media using a range of analysis tools
    • Liaise between the client and internal teams, including the main client-facing team, creative teams, etc.
  • Teamwork and Collaborative Approach
    • Mentor junior team members; work with Partner, Director, and Associate on day-to-day growth and performance of the team
    • Play a supportive role in the new business process; contribute to pitch documents and RFPs
    • Champion opportunities to bring in wider expertise from within the firm on existing and upcoming projects
    • Proactively share creative ideas to extend existing mandates
    • Foster a network of relationships across media, advisory, investor, regulatory, NGO, and other communities
    • Proactively build a network locally to identify talent referrals
  • Communication
    • Write thoughtful, well-structured content; considering audience and tone
    • Analyze and distill complex information
    • Exhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information
    • Question and challenge in constructive ways; present ideas confidently and respectfully

What We're Looking For

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    • 4-7 years of relevant work experience in communications, with significant experience with digital and social media
    • Experience leveraging and measuring efforts on social media platforms to achieve business objectives, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and other new media
    • Proven track record analyzing paid media campaign performance and developing and implementing optimization recommendations
    • Working knowledge of digital tools including monitoring / analytics systems (such as Radian6, Sysomos, Sprinklr or Spredfast; Facebook and Google analytics)
    • Ability to operate effectively in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication ability
    • Energetic team player with strong self-motivation
    • Ability to think strategically and creatively, with strong problem-solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
    • Exhibit discretion with confidential client matters
    • An understanding of business and finance a plus
    • Experience with design programs preferred, but not required (Adobe, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Ideal Candidate
    • A rising digital advisor with experience counseling businesses on digital communications for business-critical issues (e.g. crisis, M&A, financial situations, geopolitical, etc.)
    • Adept at navigating and succeeding within high-performance, entrepreneurial environments
    • Excellent communicator with professional polish and strong emotional intelligence

The successful applicant will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits package: 

Base Pay: The annual base compensation range for this role is $95,000 - $120,000. The base pay offered will be determined by factors including experience, skills, training, office location, certifications, and education.

Bonus Eligibility: Annual discretionary bonus contingent upon individual and firm-wide performance.
