We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Engineer, to join our high-throughput Research Operations team. In this role, you will operate automated liquid handling systems and other laboratory automation platforms to workflows. You will gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art automation technologies while contributing directly to projects that drive our company’s growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates excited to learn engineering principles, work with advanced laboratory automation, and develop a strong foundation in sciences operations.

What You'll Be Building

  • Operate and maintain automated liquid handling systems (e.g., Hamilton, Lynx, Echo, or similar) to run high-throughput workflows.
  • Prepare reagents, samples, and consumables for automated and manual experiments.
  • Follow detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy, reproducibility, and throughput.
  • Monitor workflow performance, troubleshoot common issues, and escalate when necessary.
  • Record, organize, and maintain experimental data with high attention to detail.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to support diverse projects across life sciences and physical sciences.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Biotechnology, Bioengineering, or related field (or equivalent laboratory experience).
  • Prior laboratory experience (academic or industry) with pipetting, molecular biology techniques, or microbiology.

Bonus Points For

  • Familiarity with integrated laboratory automation technologies and their application in mRNA/DNA workflows.
  • Experience working in high-throughput production environments with a focus on scalability and efficiency.

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation including bonus potential and generous early equity. The final offer will reflect your unique background, expertise, and impact.

Expected Base Salary Range
$72,000—$94,000 USD
