The Audiovisual (AV) Technician provides day‑to‑day audiovisual support for the Newark campus and assists with executive and studio events. This role focuses on reliable, hands‑on execution, room readiness, and event support under established standards and procedures.
The position is intended to strengthen onsite coverage, improve event reliability, and reduce dependency on travel‑based or external AV support.
You Will:
Campus & Room Support
- Provide daily AV support for conference rooms, huddle spaces, and collaboration areas
- Set up, test, and troubleshoot standard AV equipment (displays, microphones, speakers, cameras, control panels)
- Perform routine room checks to ensure spaces are event‑ready and fully operational
- Respond to AV incidents and service requests, escalating complex issues as needed
Event & Executive Support
- Support onsite events, including executive meetings, studio recordings, town halls, and leadership presentations
- Assist with event setup, teardown, and live monitoring under the guidance of senior AV staff
- Ensure consistent execution of AV standards for high‑visibility and executive‑facing events
- Provide real‑time support during events to quickly resolve technical issues
Operations & Maintenance
- Assist with basic AV equipment maintenance and inventory tracking
- Follow documented procedures, checklists, and event runbooks
- Coordinate with IT, Facilities, and Event teams to ensure smooth execution
- Document issues, resolutions, and recurring problems to support continuous improvement
Customer Experience
- Deliver professional, calm, and service‑oriented support to employees and executives
- Communicate clearly with users before, during, and after events
- Maintain discretion and professionalism in executive and confidential settings
You Bring:
- 1–3 years of experience in audiovisual, IT support, or event technology (or equivalent hands‑on experience)
- Working knowledge of common AV equipment (displays, microphones, speakers, cameras)
- Basic troubleshooting skills for audio, video, and connectivity issues
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work onsite and provide hands‑on support
- Ability to lift and move AV equipment as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting live or executive‑level events
- Familiarity with conference room platforms (e.g. Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms or similar)
- Exposure to studio or broadcast environments is a plus
- Basic understanding of signal flow and AV best practices
Work Environment & Schedule
- Primarily onsite at the Newark campus
- Flexibility to support early morning or occasional after‑hours events as required
- Fast‑paced environment with frequent interaction with executives and leadership teams
Leveling & Scope
- Entry‑level to early‑career role
- Works under established procedures and guidance from senior AV staff
- Focused on execution, reliability, and support rather than system design or architecture
- Not responsible for vendor management, budgeting, or strategic AV decisions
