Your Impact

As a High School Intern at Axon, you will contribute to bold mission through meaningful work in STEM-focused internships tracks designed to give you real-world experience in technology, engineering, innovation, and problem solving. This 8-week, paid internship provides an opportunity to explore STEM careers by working on cutting-edge projects that impact public safety.

Working alongside a cohort of fellow interns and a variety of Axon stakeholders, you’ll be part of a fast-paced, dynamic environment, engaging in mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities with Axon’s industry professionals. Throughout the program, you will develop critical problem-solving skills, expand your technical expertise, and gain insights into career pathways in technology focused careers.

What You’ll Do

Location: Seattle, WA - In Office

This internship offers hands-on exposure to applied AI and computer vision in a real-world engineering environment. Over the course of eight weeks, interns will work with image and sensor data, help improve data annotation workflows, and learn how labeled data supports the development of machine learning systems. The experience includes exploring datasets, building simple automation tools, evaluating output quality using technical metrics, and presenting findings to a research and engineering audience. This role is best suited for curious, detail-oriented students who are excited by AI, enjoy problem-solving, and want early exposure to technical workflows used in robotics and perception systems.

  • An interest in or curiosity in software engineering, artificial intelligence and machine learning. This interest may come from classes, clubs, personal projects, community programs, or self-directed learning.
  • Sharp thinking and curiosity. You ask thoughtful questions, explore new ideas, and aren’t afraid to challenge yourself or the status quo.
  • Adaptability and resilience. You’re open to feedback, willing to learn from mistakes, and ready to grow in a fast-moving environment.
  • Unstoppable drive to learn. Whether through school, work, community, or personal projects, you actively seek opportunities to build skills and make an impact.
  • You are currently a junior or senior attending a high school in the greater Seattle area. (Graduating Seniors are eligible to apply)
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability and analytical thinking
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
  • Comfort working both independently and in team-based environments
  • No prior professional work experience is required — we value curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.

Axon’s hourly pay philosophy is made up of base pay and bonus. The actual hourly pay is dependent upon many factors such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors. Base Pay Range
$21.30—$21.30 USD
