BI Analyst (Payments)

We are looking for a BI Analyst to help us gain insight to our business operations. We operate a payment orchestration platform specializing in high-risk sectors, which means our data is high-volume and complex. You will be responsible for using our data to tell a clear story, uncover insights, and identify opportunities to improve our platform performance. 

Responsibilities

  • Engage directly with stakeholders to understand their business needs. 
  • Build and maintain interactive dashboards in Metabase. 
    You will iterate on these based on user feedback to ensure fit and usefulness. 
  • Write SQL queries to pull data from our databases. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the data is accurate and reflects the current state of the platform. 
  • Help define and track key metrics such as approval rates, chargeback ratios, decline reasons, and processor performance. 
  • Support the internal team and customers with specific data requests to help troubleshoot issues or identify trends in transaction failures. 

Requirements

  • You should be very comfortable writing complex queries (CTEs, joins, window functions). 
  • Hands-on experience building and managing charts & visualization in BI platforms is a must. Previous experience with Metabase is an advantage. 
  • Experience with modern ELT workflows and platforms. 
  • Experience setting up Observability & Monitoring platforms such as Datadog, Coralogix is an advantage. 
  • Familiarity with the payments industry, particularly in high-risk or high-volume environments. 
  • You can explain technical data to non-technical customers and are comfortable leading a call to gather requirements. 
  • You prefer a dashboard that works and is easy to read over one that just looks "fancy".
