BIM DELIVERY OPERATIONS MANAGER

Fischer Homes · Erlanger, KY

onsitefull-timemid level

About this role

Job Summary

As a Construction Services Manager, you will lead and elevate Fischer Homes’ construction documentation function by owning and governing the master Plans portfolio (BIM models and standard plan content) while overseeing the team and processes that produce job-specific build packages. In this role, you ensure documentation is accurate, standardized, buildable, and released on time through disciplined QA/QC and cross-functional coordination. The most rewarding aspect of this role is knowing that your leadership, systems thinking, and quality standards directly impact buildability, cost reliability, and the homeowner experience.

This role is not a production modeler position. Success is defined by portfolio health, predictable release performance, and field-ready accuracy—not individual modeling output.

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Think strategically and can translate vision into a clear, executable roadmap.
  • Enjoy building systems that create predictability, accountability, and measurable performance.
  • Hold a high bar for documentation accuracy and constructability.
  • Naturally connect cross-functional partners and drive alignment.
  • Use data and metrics to identify root causes and improve systems—not just solve surface issues.
  • Lead with calm urgency and insist on quality without drama.
  • Coach and develop others, raising the capability of the entire function.

These skills will be used to:

  • Own and govern the master Plans/BIM portfolio, ensuring standards, version control, coordination, and compliance are maintained.
  • Lead the release of job-specific build packages through a disciplined stage-gate and QA/QC process that ensures accuracy, constructability, and on-time delivery.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Operations, Purchasing, Estimating, Engineering, Design, and Construction Administration to improve handoffs and execution.
  • Protect profitability and buildability by strengthening model integration, estimating coordination, and value engineering processes.
  • Establish KPIs and continuous improvement systems that reduce plan-related RFIs, revisions, and field rework.
  • Lead and develop the Construction Services team, building capability, accountability, and sustainable capacity.
  • AI to increase speed and consistency in planning, communication, and documentation operations (e.g., summarizing inputs, drafting standards/checklists, organizing requirements), while maintaining clear human ownership and accountability for outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • 7–12+ years leading construction documentation, design production, BIM/VDC, or plan delivery in a production environment with direct accountability for outcomes.
  • 3–7+ years of people leadership experience, including coaching and performance management.
  • Proven ability to build and operate a documentation delivery system (intake, prioritization, QA/QC, release governance).
  • Strong working knowledge of BIM portfolio management concepts (standards, libraries, version control, coordination workflows).
  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders to drive alignment and adoption.
  • Metrics-driven leadership approach with experience building and using performance dashboards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing standardized, high-volume plan portfolios.
  • Lean or continuous improvement background (Kaizen, A3 thinking, standard work).
  • Experience leading documentation or tool platform evolution (e.g., ACC/BIM 360, model QA tools, automation initiatives).
  • Exposure to estimating integration and cost governance tied to plan changes.

Physical demands and work environment:

  • Must be able to use sensory skills (i.e. verbal communication) to effectively communicate and interact with other Associates and customers.
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills (i.e. typing, writing) to operate office supplies (i.e. computer, calculator, copier).
  • Must be able to lift and carry approximately 20-25lbs unassisted.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time with low periods of reaching and standing.
