Position Overview:

This position is for an experienced, detail-oriented Business Architect with effective communication skills. The successful candidate will have experience working with customers, users, and project leads in analyzing, designing, implementing, and supporting a variety of projects.  This position acts as a liaison and partner to the business stakeholder community within Acadian, and will help identify development solutions, modifications, and integrations of existing and new applications.  You will work very closely with cross-functional teams to understand and translate business needs into a prioritized backlog with the Scrum team. The candidate will openly communicate with team members to identify impacts across workflow functions and impacted downstream applications. The Business Architect II will be expected to drive medium to large-sized projects while exercising considerable independent judgment and discretion.

Acadian supports a hybrid work environment; employees are on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist in creating the business architecture for Investment Operations group by gathering the business functions, identifying the dependencies, and performing gap analysis on the future and current state business architecture
  • Manage the project delivery pipeline by developing project mandates, generating value stream maps, incorporate the architectural principles into the backlog, and ensure the delivery teams meet sprint goals and objectives
  • Serve as a Product Owner to translate complex business needs into deliverable features/user stories on behalf of stakeholders and identify ways to deliver Minimum Viable Product in alignment with Product Roadmap/epics
  • Manages delivery of scope, partners with delivery teams to ensure user stories are clear and resolves impediments quickly and efficiently
  • Plan and execute User Acceptance Testing as well as Post Implementation Validations to ensure successful releases of your projects
  • Provide subject matter expertise and coaching to the delivery teams and mentor the business analysts in successfully implementing Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Support the daily operations of our customers and identify operational efficiencies to improve customer experience

 We’re Looking for Teammates With:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 6-8 years of experience supporting the Investment Operations function in the financial services industry, reviewing business requirements, system functional requirements, and developing systems specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to translate broader business initiatives into clear team objectives and concrete goals
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and/or teams; Ability to think strategically and to inform, influence and collaborate with senior managers on business opportunities and risks
  • Identify, assess and resolve complex business problems; facilitate issue resolution and risk mitigation
  • Ability to work with the business users, understand their needs and translate those needs to software deliverables; work with the technical resources and coordinate their efforts to deliver project solutions

 

The base salary range for this role is $180,000 – $190,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, and relevant experience. In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and includes participation in Acadian’s comprehensive benefits program, which includes health, retirement, and wellness offerings.
