Cloud Data Engineer & Coach (GCP)

For one of our major enterprise clients, we are looking for a Cloud Data Engineer & Coach. This is a pivotal role focused on guiding a team through a significant transition from on-premises SQL Server environments to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will act as both a technical lead and a mentor, moving the team from "shadow IT" toward a structured, scalable, and well-governed cloud operation.

 What you’ll do

• Lead the Migration: Support the end-to-end migration of SQL Server databases and data ingestion/processing pipelines to GCP.
• Coach & Mentor: Upskill team members on GCP architecture, cloud concepts, and engineering best practices.
• Establish Standards: Transition the team from ad-hoc workflows to mature, standards-driven cloud operations.
• Hands-on Engineering: Provide direct support for data ingestion, transformation, and processing workflows using Python and ETL tools.
• Governance & Documentation: Establish and document best practices for cloud data engineering, security, and operational excellence.
• Collaboration: Work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure the cloud strategy aligns with business needs.

What we’re looking for

• GCP Mastery: Strong expertise in Google Cloud services, specifically BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Dataflow.
• Data Migration Background: Proven experience migrating SQL Server environments and data pipelines to the cloud.
• Technical Stack: Proficiency in Python and experience with Informatica Data Management Cloud (IDMC).
• Mentorship Skills: Excellent coaching abilities; you are a peer who can explain complex cloud topics clearly and patiently.
• Governance Mindset: Familiarity with cloud security, governance, and operational best practices.
• Independence: A proactive professional who can review their own work and drive initiatives forward.
• Fluent English + NL residency (no sponsorship).

Tooling: GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow), SQL Server, Python, IDMC, ETL Frameworks.
