Cloud Platform Engineer

For one of our major enterprise clients in the aviation domain, we are looking for a Cloud Platform Engineer to strengthen their Database Competence Center (DCC). The team supports a wide range of database services across Azure and GCP and plays a central role in enabling stable, secure, and automated data infrastructure in a multi-cloud, multi-cultural environment.

This role is ideal for an engineer who excels in knowledge transfer, team enablement, and cloud-native automation, rather than pure hands-on implementation. You will work closely with engineering teams, platform owners, and product management to uplift cloud maturity across the organisation.

What you’ll do

• Support the Database Competence Center by guiding and enabling engineers in cloud-related tasks

• Provide expert assistance on Terraform, GitHub Actions, Ansible, and cloud automation patterns

• Facilitate knowledge transfer across a diverse, multi-cultural environment ensuring clarity, structure, and effective upskilling

• Assist teams with complex cloud questions, troubleshooting, and best-practice implementation

• Support onboarding of new technologies and database services across Azure and GCP

• Ensure high-quality documentation, guidance, and knowledge materials for team members and stakeholders

• Collaborate closely with the Product Manager and engineering leadership to improve competence, processes, and ways of working

• Be present on-site in Amsterdam 2–3 days a week to provide hands-on guidance, sessions, and team support

Required Technical Skills

Cloud & Automation

• Extensive experience with Terraform (Infra-as-Code)

• Strong CI/CD experience, especially with GitHub Actions and Ansible

• Deep understanding of Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

• Cloud-agnostic mindset, able to bridge design and automation patterns across providers

Database Technologies (strong plus)

• PostgreSQL Flexible Server (Azure)

• Oracle Exadata

• Cosmos DB

• Cloud SQL (GCP)
