For one of the largest telecommunications providers in the Netherlands, we are looking for an experienced Data Engineer. In this hybrid role, you will act as a bridge builder between Business and IT, combining solution architecture with hands-on development to support Finance and HR domains. You will join the Corporate Insights & Analytics (CIA) department, working in a multidisciplinary team to transform complex data landscapes into future-proof AI and information products.
What you’ll do
- Create future-proof data products for AI, dashboards, and forecasting models.
- Develop solutions in line with the broader data architecture vision to support corporate steering.
- Configure and optimize metadata-driven data pipelines for maximum efficiency.
- Develop and execute monitoring activities to ensure the health and reliability of existing data products.
- Present technical solutions to colleagues and end-users across the CIA chain, translating business needs into technical designs.
- Ensure high standards through documentation and adherence to Azure security and governance policies.
What we’re looking for (Must Haves)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with a background in Computer Science or a relevant STEM field (HBO/WO level).
- Deep experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Studio, and Azure SQL.
- Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and data modeling techniques (e.g., Star Schemas).
- Experienced with Azure DevOps, Git, and automated deployment processes.
- Solid understanding of Azure security, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Strong proactive mindset with excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
- NL residency (no sponsorship).
Tooling: Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL, Azure DevOps, Git.
Nice to have
- Technical extras: Knowledge of C#, PowerShell, SSIS, or SSAS.
- Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with Finance and HR business processes.
