For our client within the banking sector, we are looking for a Data Engineer to join one of our client's project. You will be responsible for the design and operation of a new datastore that facilitates the exchange of critical mortgage data, providing stability for customers making one of life's most significant financial decisions.
Design & Build: Develop and operate a new datastore to support the exchange of mortgages data.
Backend Development: Build robust solutions using Java and manage Oracle RDBMS environments.
Risk & Security: Administer IT-Risk and Security controls and actively participate in audits to maintain banking standards.
Data Integration: Apply data quality and integration patterns to service data consumers across the department.
Ops & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve production issues using modern monitoring and alerting tools.
Automation: Automate build and deployment processes using Azure DevOps and Ansible.
Senior Experience: 4+ years in Data Engineering, focusing on data quality and integration.
Database Mastery: 4+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle RDBMS, SQL, and PL/SQL.
Java Backend: Solid experience in Java backend development.
Tech Essentials: Proficient in Linux and scripting.
Analytical Mindset: Ability to think from an impact point of view, understanding complexity beyond the immediate problem.
Methodology: Experience in Agile, Scrum, or Kanban.
Language: Excellent communicator in English.
Streaming: Experience with Kafka (Connect, Schema Registry, Streams API).
Containerization: Knowledge of Kubernetes (ICHP) and Docker.
Banking Standards: Knowledge of IT-Risk and Security Standards in the financial industry.
Quality Assurance: Ability to automate and execute test cases.
