Workdays & Hours: FLSA Exempt position. Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm; some evening/weekend work required. This position will be located at the Fort Worth City Hall, 100 Fort Worth Trail, Fort Worth, TX 76102. Partial telecommuting options will be available with a minimum of 2-days in-office attendance required each week. On a monthly rotational basis, this position will also serve as the on-call database support person.

A Database Administrator position is available with the City of Fort Worth IT Solutions’ Database Design & Support division. This position will predominantly assist with the support of the approximately 80 SQL Servers and 1700+ databases that are used throughout the City of Fort Worth. The Database (DBA) team maintains and supports over 400 applications, ranging from in-house developed applications (.Net) to cloud-hosted solutions. Many of the applications exchange information through interfaces and/or API developed programs. These interfaces are primarily supported by the DBA Team. In this position you will have the ability to support databases that provide solutions that can change the way the City conducts business. You will be performing day-to-day support for numerous systems/applications, while also working on many enterprise projects that have been approved.
We are constantly bringing new technology to the City of Fort Worth to streamline business processes, improve government transparency and make services more readily available to our citizens. This opportunity offers challenges in technology, ability to take business requirements and identify technical solutions, automate customer manual processes, and interface multiple systems together to best provide the customers with supporting data within the City of Fort Worth.

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
