DevOps Engineer - Basic-Fit

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Azure Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen the Cloud & Platform team. You will work alongside Sytac engineers on building, automating, and maintaining the core infrastructure that supports millions of Basic-Fit members across Europe.
The focus is on infrastructure-as-code, Linux engineering, automation, and enterprise-grade Azure cloud services. In this role, you ensure that infrastructure is reliable, secure, scalable, and fully automated — enabling product teams to ship faster and operate confidently.

What You Will Do

Cloud Engineering & Automation

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform (modular, reusable IaC).

• Build automation and configuration management with Ansible.

• Develop CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure delivery and compliance checks.

• Improve platform resilience, cost-efficiency, and observability.

Linux & Platform Operations

• Manage and harden Linux-based systems (Ubuntu/RHEL).

• Automate OS-level configuration, patching, and security baselines.

• Troubleshoot availability, performance, and networking issues across cloud & hybrid environments.

Collaboration

• Work closely with Esteban and the Cloud/Platform team on architecture, IaC patterns, and automation strategies.

• Interface with DevOps, Application Engineering, and Security teams to ensure alignment.

• Contribute to internal best practices, documentation, and standardisation.

Tech Stack

• Cloud: Azure (Azure Networking, Compute, Storage, AKS is a plus)

• IaC: Terraform (multi-environment, modules, pipelines)

• Config Management: Ansible

• OS: Linux (Ubuntu, RHEL)

• Scripting: Bash, Python (nice to have)

• CI/CD: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions

• Monitoring/Logging: Azure Monitor, Prometheus/Grafana (nice to have)

What You Bring

• 4–8+ years of experience in Cloud/Platform Engineering.

• Strong hands-on experience with Azure, Linux, Ansible, and Terraform.

• Background in highly automated, production-grade environments.

• Ability to design scalable IaC patterns (modules, workspaces, pipelines).

• Solid understanding of networking, security, RBAC, identity, and governance.

• Proactive mindset: ownership, automation-first, reliability-focused.

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment like Basic-Fit.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Kubernetes (AKS), Helm, or GitOps.

• Background in large-scale consumer or retail environments.

• Experience with cost optimisation and FinOps principles.

• Familiarity with Zero Trust security models.
