The Director of Sales is a dynamic player-coach leadership role responsible for both personally driving new revenue and leading a team of four Fulfillment Consultants (FCs), ShipMonk’s frontline Account Executives. This leader sets the pace for the team, closes their own book of business, and elevates the performance of every FC they manage. The ideal candidate is an elite seller who thrives in a high-growth 3PL environment, leads by example, and has a proven track record of developing talent, managing pipeline, and delivering results for a scaling sales organization.
Player-Coach Selling
Personally prospect, qualify, and close your own portfolio of new eCommerce clients following the Fulfillment Consultant compensation and sales process. Maintain an active individual pipeline while simultaneously leading the team.
Team Leadership & Coaching
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four Fulfillment Consultants. Conduct regular 1:1s, ride-alongs, deal reviews, and performance coaching sessions to sharpen each FC’s selling skills, product knowledge, and professional growth.
Pipeline Development & Management
Drive consistent top-of-funnel activity and pipeline health across both your own deals and the broader FC team. Identify and remove bottlenecks that slow deal progression and work proactively to accelerate close rates.
CRM Hygiene & Data Integrity
Champion rigorous CRM usage (Salesforce preferred) across the team. Ensure all deal stages, activity logs, contact records, and pipeline data are accurate and up to date — setting the standard for discipline and accountability.
Forecasting & SVP Support
Deliver accurate weekly and monthly revenue forecasts for both your personal pipeline and the collective FC team. Provide the SVP of Sales with timely, data-driven updates on team performance, deal status, risks, and opportunities.
Training, Onboarding & Development
Own the onboarding experience for new FCs, ensuring fast ramp-up times and a solid foundation in ShipMonk’s products, sales methodology, and client engagement standards. Facilitate ongoing skills training, playbook development, and knowledge-sharing across the team.
Strategic Collaboration
Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Client Success, and Finance to align go-to-market strategy, share market feedback, and ensure a seamless handoff from close to onboarding.
