About You and The Role
Zipline is seeking Ground Systems Technicians who have solid first principles and hands on skills, sound judgment, excellent interpersonal skills and high standards. Success will require attention to detail, a safety-oriented attitude, flexibility, and enthusiasm for installing and maintaining the cutting-edge systems that facilitate our autonomous systems.
What You'll Do

- Install, configure, and commission ground systems installations at new Zipline sites. This includes Quality Control and Assurance of installed Electrical and Network systems with issue resolution as needed.
- Diagnose and resolve basic electrical/network problems, system faults, and site issues limited to basic configuration (i.e. no electrician level tasks)
- Perform maintenance and upgrades with the goal of maximizing uptime and reliability.
- Work with engineering & cross-functional teams to document and resolve tickets using company IT ticketing platforms.
- Manage accountability programs for tools, calibration equipment, and vehicles.
- Maintain records of installations, surveys, maintenance actions, and troubleshooting steps.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, electrical standards, published manuals and SOPs.
- Contribute to creating and updating SOPs, troubleshooting guides, and installation standards.
- Successfully complete and continuously maintain all required training(s) and certifications.
- Bring a safety first mindset to all tasks.
What You'll Bring
Basic Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge: mechanical, residential/light commercial electrical, and basic office software
- Attention to detail and compliance with installation standards and manuals
- Organizational skills, inventory management, material handling equipment, Mechanical/Electrical assembly experience
- A strong safety culture, with experience in following and implementing safety procedures for mechanical, electrical and automation systems.
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.
- Must be able to support shift work including, but not limited to days/evenings, weekends, etc. with travel up to 20%, as necessary
- Will experience 80% + travel in first 3 months including offsite/remote training
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S.and have a valid US Driver's License
- Ability to lift and or move up to 55 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications (Electrical):
- Desired knowledge: Electrical and Electrical Systems (to include network/low voltage)
- Familiarity with material handling equipment (warehouse forklift, pallet jack)
- Adaptability to changing work environments, technologies, and procedures
- Ability to diagnose problems, develop and implement novel fixes to time-sensitive problems.
- OSHA 30
Preferred Qualifications (Construction):
- Desired knowledge: General construction, Heavy Steel Erection
- Ability to read / interpret Construction and technical drawings
- Familiarity with material handling equipment (warehouse forklift, pallet jack)
- Adaptability to changing work environments, technologies, and procedures
- Ability to diagnose problems, develop and implement novel fixes to time-sensitive problems.
- OSHA 30
