Engineering Manager

Guardz is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and grow a team of talented software engineers building the next generation of our cybersecurity platform for small and medium-sized businesses.
In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll combine technical depth with a genuine passion for people. This position is ideal for someone who blends strong technical expertise with proven leadership skills - someone who cares deeply about building meaningful products, developing talent, and enabling scale through engineering excellence.
You’ll collaborate closely with product, architecture, and other engineering leaders to define roadmaps, drive execution, and foster a culture where engineers can learn, grow, and make real impact.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and grow a team of passionate software engineers building core system capabilities.
• Ship high-quality, customer-facing features while maintaining strong engineering standards.
• Foster a culture of ownership, impact, and continuous improvement.
• Manage career development through coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
• Define and uphold engineering best practices to ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Lead design and architecture discussions, balancing feature delivery with long-term technical health.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and other leaders to define clear roadmaps and priorities.
• Drive initiatives that enhance developer productivity and platform performance.
• Promote operational excellence, accountability, and proactive problem-solving.

Requirements:

• Experience leading a team of 3+ software engineers, with the ability to attract and inspire top talent.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience, building and scaling complex systems - including CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and modern web technologies or frameworks.
• Strong architectural vision and product mindset, with the ability to translate ideas into execution.
• Proven track record of delivering complex features while maintaining quality and reliability.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills - you build trust, resolve conflicts, and provide clear feedback.
• Demonstrated commitment to developing others and building high-performing teams.
• Experience in a startup or SaaS product environment - a strong advantage.
