The Role
As an Estimator – Foundations, you will support the Power Division by developing accurate and competitive estimates for foundation and civil scopes associated with substation and transmission line construction. This role is critical to ensuring our electrical infrastructure projects are properly scoped, competitively priced, and positioned for successful execution.
You will evaluate drawings and bid documents, coordinate with subcontractors, and work closely with Project Management teams to close bids and support smooth project handoff.
Projects typically range from $500K to $10M and require strong attention to detail, organization, and an understanding of construction methods commonly used in power delivery foundation work.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze bid specifications, drawings, and scope documents related to substation and transmission foundation work.
- Develop detailed and accurate estimates ensuring all quantities, production assumptions, and costs are fully captured.
- Solicit, evaluate, and follow up with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure complete bid coverage.
- Collaborate with Project Managers and estimating team members to align budgets, schedules, and execution strategies.
- Identify scope gaps, constructability challenges, and risk items related to foundation construction.
- Maintain organized estimate files, pricing breakdowns, and supporting documentation through bid completion.

What It Takes
- Estimating experience or exposure within power delivery, electrical, or utility construction.
- Familiarity with civil and foundation scopes supporting substations or transmission projects preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for site walks and bid reviews
