The Risk Advisory practice provides expert advice and leadership to companies and senior management, helping them to resolve business critical regulatory, risk and legal matters. Our clients include global organisations, and as part of the Risk Advisory family you will work alongside senior experts and leaders with years of experience in the areas of investigations, disputes and risk management. 

AlixPartners has assembled a talented interdisciplinary team of experts who bring new and innovative ideas to client risk and compliance problems, bringing together data analytics, behavioral science as well as risk and regulatory expertise, to help clients approach an increasingly complex risk landscape. 

This expert team is responsible for a wide variety of high impact, high stakes matters, helping clients to navigate transformational change, often driven by regulatory or legal matters, complex organisational change ambitions, or supporting senior management to meet its strategic objectives.
 
AlixPartners has embraced a hybrid work model to provide flexibility and support our employees’ work-life integration. Our hybrid model combines a mix of in-person (at client site or AlixPartners office) and remote working. Travel is part of this position, but the frequency may vary based on client, team, and individual circumstances.

What you’ll do

An opportunity has become available for a Vice President to join our Risk Advisory team in Hong Kong. The team is made up of a wide range of risk and compliance experts with impressive expertise and track records. We are looking for intelligent, pragmatic and results-focused individuals who can operate on a wide range of local and international engagements

  • Working on client projects from proposal through to delivery completion while taking accountability for client deliverables, owning them from start to end.
  • Working with clients to define their strategic goals and objectives holistically across business, finance, operations, HR and Risk and Compliance functions.
  • Working with clients to scope and plan projects relating to risk and compliance.
  • Working with clients to design their risk and compliance future state ambitions and desired outcomes.
  • Supporting innovation, ideation and product development for alternative industry risk and compliance products, methods and solutions
  • Driven to work on client engagements across different industries and practices
  • Being self-driven and self-learning with a natural passion for research and design thinking
  • Supporting business development activities such as client proposals, thought papers and webinars.
  • Training and mentoring fellow colleagues in your area of specialism.

What you’ll need 

  • 5 – 8 years of relevant experience working in a professional business environment such as another consultancy or financial institutions with experience in risk advisory e.g. non‑financial risk, operational risk, compliance, data analytics, or similar
  • An interest or experience in people‑ and behaviour‑focused change management, in exploring new and emerging technology solutions, and in working within risk and compliance
  • Familiarity with Hong Kong and regional regulatory expectations (e.g. HKMA, SFC, MAS) on risk management, governance and internal controls is highly preferred
  • Good data and documentation skills: comfortable working with process maps, RCSAs, risk registers, policies and management reports
  • Are passionate about technology and analytics and have practical knowledge and experience of using Databricks SQL and Python (or other scripting languages) and are competent in the usage of data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Have a passion for technology and maintain an awareness of recent technological developments, including the practical application of artificial intelligence techniques
  • Combine a level of technical savvy, consultancy skills and commercial acumen with client-facing ability
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks, self-prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills; able to structure issues and develop practical recommendations
  • Possess business acumen and can innovatively deliver consistently with minimal oversight and maximum collaboration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, that you can adapt to technical and business/non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work full time in an office and remote environment; physically able to sit/stand at a computer and work in front of a computer screen for significant portions of the workday
