About this role

The Role… 

At Soho House, the Head Kitchen Porter will take ownership of the dishwashing and cleaning areas, coordinate with the wider kitchen team, and actively support the chefs to ensure seamless operations during busy service periods. 

Your main responsibility is leading the kitchen porter team and ensuring the efficient cleaning, organising, and sanitising of all kitchen equipment, utensils, and areas.

Key duties…

  • Lead and motivate a team of kitchen porters to ensure all cleaning duties are completed to standard and on time 
  • Operate industrial dishwashers and ensure all pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, and glassware are properly washed, dried, and stored 
  • Oversee the cleanliness and organisation of the dishwashing area and storage zones 
  • Monitor rubbish disposal throughout shifts, including recycling and food waste segregation 
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and surfaces through mopping and wiping down regularly 
  • Adhere to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies and practices in line with UK regulations (including COSHH) 
  • Follow detailed cleaning schedules and standard operating procedures (SOPs) 
  • Support the kitchen team by replenishing stock, reporting low supplies, and assisting where required during peak service times 
  • Handle kitchen equipment and items carefully to minimise breakages and maintain inventory integrity 

What we are looking for...

A successful Head Kitchen Porter for Soho House will ideally have up to 2 years’ experience in a busy high-profile venue and a natural flair for first class service. You’ll be reliable, friendly and happy to be a key part of the team that strives for success.  

  • Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently. 
  • Reliability, discretion, and a professional attitude. 
  • Flexibility to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays as required. 
  • Ability to handle feedback to achieve member satisfaction 
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions 

The salary range for this role if filled within the UK is listed below. The range for the position in different geographies may vary based on market differences.

Pay Range
£15—£15 GBP
