Head of Credit Products

Plata Card · Colombia

onsitefull-timemid level

About this role

We are looking for a strategic and execution-driven Head of Credit Products to spearhead our expansion into the Colombian market.

Credit is the engine of our growth at Plata. Your mission is to build and launch our credit card from the ground up in Colombia — defining the product vision, navigating the local landscape, and ensuring a flawless go-to-market execution. You will not just manage a product; you will own the entire credit ecosystem, from the first transaction to long-term portfolio health.

Based in our Bogotá office, you will lead cross-functional teams across engineering, risk, and operations to turn a blank canvas into a market-leading financial tool.

Challenges that await you:

  • Product Strategy & Launch
    • Full ownership of the Colombia Credit Card roadmap (MVP to scale)
    • Defining the core value proposition and feature backlog tailored to the Colombian consumer
    • End-to-end project management: from licensing and local dependencies to the first card swipe
  • Process & Infrastructure
    • Setting up implementation processes and cross-functional delivery frameworks
    • Orchestrating dependencies between core banking, payment networks (Visa/Mastercard), and local processing partners
    • Defining decision logic for credit limits and card lifecycle management
  • Market Adaptation & Compliance
    • Deep dive into Superfinanciera requirements and local credit regulations
    • Ensuring the product meets local tax (GMF/IVA) and reporting standards
    • Aligning with local credit bureaus and data providers for seamless underwriting
  • Metrics & Portfolio Performance
    • Card activation and utilization rates
    • Unit economics (Interchange, interest income vs. cost of funds)
    • Portfolio quality (NPLs) in collaboration with the Risk team
    • Cost of acquisition (CAC) and customer lifetime value (LTV)

What makes this role different:

  • Founder-level Impact: You are building a new business unit in a new country, not just maintaining an existing feature
  • Zero-to-One: You define the backlog, the processes, and the team culture from day one
  • Strategic Centrality: Your product is the primary revenue driver and the main point of contact between Plata and its Colombian customers
  • High Visibility: You will report directly to the leadership, shaping the company’s trajectory in the Andean region

What makes you a great fit:

  • 6+ years of experience in Product Management, with a significant track record in Credit Cards or Lending
  • Proven Launch Experience: You have successfully launched complex financial products from scratch (ideally in the Colombian or LATAM market)
  • Strategic Executioner: You can think at 30,000 feet about market positioning and then dive into the weeds of Jira tickets and API documentation
  • Leadership Presence: Experience managing stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Engineering, and Marketing
  • Data & Risk Fluency: You understand credit cycles, P&L management, and how product features impact risk models
  • Location: Ability to work from our office in Bogotá
  • Language: Fluent in English, Spanish will be an advantage
Our ways of working:
  • Innovative Spirit: A commitment to creativity and groundbreaking solutions
  • Honest Feedback: valuing open, transparent communication
  • Supportive Team: a strong, collaborative community
  • Celebrating Achievements: recognizing our wins together
  • High-Tech Environment: a team full of smart and revolutionary people who date to challenge the status quo of incumbent finances
Our benefits:
  • Relocation support to Colombia with assistance for the employee and their family
  • Flexible work from one of our offices or remote
  • Healthcare Coverage
  • Education Budget: Language lessons, professional training and certifications
  • Wellness Budget: Mental health and fitness activity reimbursements
  • Vacation policy: 20 days of annual leave and paid sick leave
