What You Will Do  

As our Head of Data, you will lead think-cell’s data strategy, governance, and analytics vision, building and overseeing data capabilities that empower our teams and customers to make smarter, faster, and more informed decisions. You will drive data-driven transformation, ensuring our data infrastructure, processes, and insights deliver measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Develop and execute think-cell’s company-wide data strategy and roadmap, aligned with our business goals. 

• Lead data governance, ensuring high data quality, integrity, security, and compliance. 

• Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of business intelligence, data analytics, and data science platforms. 

• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into actionable data insights and solutions. 

• Provide thought leadership and strategic counsel to the Executive Team, Board, and senior stakeholders. 

• Build and mentor a high-performing data team, fostering a culture of innovation, ownership, and continuous improvement. 

• Drive adoption of AI, LLM, and other emerging technologies to enhance data capabilities. 

• Monitor and evaluate the performance of data initiatives, ensuring they deliver commercial value and operational efficiency. 

You will be great for this position if you have  

• 8–12 years of data or related experience. 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in data science, statistics, engineering, computer science, or a related field. 

• Fluency in English (German a big plus), with a willingness to work onsite in Berlin. 

• Proven track record in data management or analytics leadership roles, ideally within software or tech companies (including private equity-owned), with experience in developing and executing data strategies and roadmaps. 

• Demonstrated success in delivering results via both direct leadership and influence across functional and cross-functional teams. 

• Strong experience implementing business intelligence, data analytics, and data science systems. 

• A commercial mindset with the ability to conduct structured business analysis and define clear requirements. 

• Executive presence and credibility at Board, CEO, and senior leadership levels. 

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to coach and present effectively. 

• Deep understanding of data infrastructure, tools, and technologies (AI/LLM experience is a plus). 

• Programming skills in Python, R, or similar, and experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a plus

This role requires on-site presence in our Berlin office at least four days per week.
