Make your mark on Jewish student life by joining the Hillel Campus Alliance of Michigan as a Jewish Student Life Coordinator. As a community builder, you’ll inspire students to be partners in creating a vibrant and welcoming Jewish community on ten campuses statewide. You will drive Hillel forward by thinking big and implementing with excellence on a day to day basis.
In this role, you will bring your contagious energy and creativity directly to the students, engaging one-on-one with previously uninvolved participants, supervising student boards and interns and working directly with those students to create dynamic Jewish student life across the state of Michigan. You will work with our team to create and implement a comprehensive engagement strategy to reach the estimated 1,500 Jewish students on our ten campuses.
The Hillel Campus Alliance of Michigan is a coalition of campus Hillels located throughout Michigan. HCAM is building dynamic and vibrant Jewish communities for students at Alma College, Albion College, Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, Kalamazoo College, Michigan Technological University, Northern Michigan University, Saginaw Valley State University, and Western Michigan University. We prove that Jewish student life exists outside of a traditional Hillel building, providing nurturing environments for students to grow religiously, socially and ethically. We encourage a love for Israel and focus on creating an open and welcoming community for all Jews, with respect for other faiths and a broad understanding of what it means to be Jewish.

Core Campuses
HCAM serves five core campuses: Central Michigan University, Eastern Michigan University, Grand Valley State University, Kalamazoo College and Western Michigan University. Hillel staff meet with student leaders to determine their vision for Jewish life on campus and work closely with those leaders to make their vision a reality. Core campuses receive funding, staff supervision, and leadership development opportunities. Hillel staff travel regularly to core campuses to participate in programs, meet with leaders, and engage new and involved students.
Affiliate Campuses
Affiliate campuses include Alma College, Albion College, Michigan Technological University, Northern Michigan University, and Saginaw Valley State University. Affiliate campuses receive funding and student leadership development similar to core campuses, and limited supervision is provided when a group of students commit to taking ownership over their respective campus Hillel.

In 1923, Rabbi Benjamin Frankel started Hillel with humble means, a noble mission and a breathtaking vision: to convey Jewish civilization to a new generation. Today, Hillel International continues to enrich the lives of Jewish students and is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world at nearly 1,000 colleges and universities across North America and around the world. As Hillel evolves as an organization, the mission remains steadfast: to create lasting connections with every Jewish student that foster an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel and train them to become the next Jewish leaders.
