Maintenance Planner

About The Team:

This role sits within the Facilities and Maintenance department and reports directly to the Senior Reliability Manager. It is responsible for coordinating and scheduling maintenance activities to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our facilities. You’ll play a key role in minimising downtime, maximising equipment reliability, and optimising maintenance resources to support production operations.

Working closely with the Maintenance Manager, Senior Facilities Manager, and wider leadership team, you’ll help keep maintenance operations running seamlessly while acting as the site CMMS subject matter expert (SME).

What You Will Be Doing:

• Conduct audits and verify CMMS data accuracy—ensuring all equipment and assets are correctly recorded, identified, and up to date in the system.
• Work closely with maintenance, operations, and production teams to design and deliver effective maintenance plans, schedules, and procedures that keep everything running at its best.
• Take ownership of incoming work orders—reviewing, prioritising, and coordinating resources to ensure the right work gets done at the right time.
• Drive a proactive approach to maintenance by developing and managing preventive programmes, including inspections, servicing, and component replacement to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Partner with inventory teams to ensure critical spare parts and consumables are always available—monitoring stock, managing reorders, and building strong supplier relationships.
• Turn data into action by analysing equipment performance (downtime, costs, history) to spot trends, produce insights, and recommend improvements that boost reliability and efficiency.
• Keep everything documented and organised, maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, manuals, and logs for full traceability.
• Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring Food Safety and Health & Safety standards are consistently met—taking responsibility for your own safety, reporting incidents promptly, and raising concerns when needed.
• Apply practical problem-solving skills to day-to-day challenges, escalating to Maintenance Management when required to keep operations on track.
• Ensure full compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, maintaining high operational standards at all times.
• Coordinate service and support functions effectively, helping to ensure smooth, uninterrupted operations across the site.

Who You Are:

• Strong CMMS experience with a track record of improving reliability and efficiency.
• Practical knowledge of material handling equipment and how to maintain it effectively.
• Experience planning and scheduling maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.
• Confident using MS Office or Google tools for day-to-day tasks and reporting.
• Able to read and understand technical drawings and schematics.
• Good understanding of food safety standards in a maintenance environment.
• Relevant electrical or mechanical training, or a technical degree.
• Experience with CMMS platforms such as FIIX, SAP, or IBM Maximo would be an advantage.

Working schedule: Monday to Friday, 42 hour working week
