Manager of Data Science & Analytics, Buyer

Information about the position 

As a Manager of Data Science & Analytics (DSA), you will set up and lead a team of Data Scientists. We are currently looking for 2 candidates, for the homepage recommender team in the Buyer domain and the listing upload AI automation team in the Supply domain. 

You and your team will be responsible for the discovery, implementation, productionisation and monitoring of new and existing ML models that are integrated into our product and generate value to our members. Your team will own the success metrics and impact estimation of each project through offline and online experimentation. You will be responsible for the delivery management of the data science products in your team, cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product and design, and the growth of individual contributors and the entire team.

You’ll report to the Director of Data Science & Analytics in your domain and work closely with the leadership in your team to ensure smooth collaboration, strategic clarity and timely delivery in your area.

In this position, you’ll 

• Lead a team of data scientists
• Collaborate with the team to identify and prioritise strategic opportunities for Vinted’s homepage recommender/upload form suggestion systems
• Foster a healthy team environment by supporting team members, helping their career growth and through the proactive hiring of new members
• Contribute to and own the key performance indicators of the team
• Drive measurement of impact through experimentation
• Deliver insights to a variety of stakeholders across Vinted

About you 

• Demonstrable experience leading teams (ideally developing data products) and leveraging data for business impact
• Strong interpersonal skills
• A good communicator who can present complex topics clearly and persuasively to different audiences
• Comfortable with Python and SQL
• Experience with statistical analysis and data science techniques, including experiment design, hypothesis testing, metric design and machine learning systems
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Advantage: Experience in recommender systems or personalisation
• Advantage: Experience with a marketplace platform
• Advantage: Experience in collaboration with engineering in model productionisation/MLOps

The salary range for this position is € 69,700 - € 114,300 gross per year.
