Marketing Lead

Ebury Bucharest Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week

As Marketing Lead for the CEE region, you will be responsible for defining and driving the marketing strategy across Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. You will act as the strategic bridge between our global marketing vision and the local nuances of these four diverse markets. Working closely with the regional Sales and Partnership teams, you will lead the development of marketing plans, execute high-impact campaigns, and coordinate local activities to position Ebury as the leading fintech partner for businesses in Central and Eastern Europe. This is a hands-on leadership role for a results-oriented professional who can both strategize at a regional level and execute localized tactics effectively.

Ebury’s strategic expansion into the CEE region presents a powerful avenue to amplify brand recognition and cultivate valuable leads in some of Europe’s most dynamic economies. To capitalize on these opportunities, we require a proactive, Romanian-speaking Marketing Lead with a deep understanding of the regional business landscape. This role is instrumental in transforming our CEE presence into tangible growth, ensuring our messaging resonates from Romania to Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Bulgaria.

What you’ll do

Regional Marketing strategy & leadership:
  • Strategy development: Design and implement a comprehensive marketing roadmap for Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, and the Czech Republic, targeting financial decision-makers.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor regional trends, analyse local competitors, and identify unique opportunities to differentiate Ebury’s solutions in each specific market.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align marketing goals with regional Sales and Partnership teams to ensure lead-generation activities support revenue targets.
  • Performance Tracking: Own the reporting of quantitative and qualitative KPIs for the region, optimizing the marketing budget based on LTV:CAC and ROI.
  • Localization: Supervise the adaptation of global campaigns to ensure cultural and linguistic relevance across the four territories.

Brand Activation & Content Generation:

  • Event Management: Lead the strategy and execution of local events, trade shows, and hospitality activations across the region.
  • External Communications: Oversee regional PR efforts and localized Social Media strategies to build brand authority.
  • Lead Generation: Develop multi-channel campaigns (digital, content, and offline) tailored to the specific business maturity of each country in the cluster.

What you’ll need

Required

  • Language Skills: Native or bilingual fluency in Romanian and full professional proficiency in English. 
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in Marketing, preferably within Fintech, Financial Services, or B2B.
  • Regional Knowledge: Proven experience managing marketing activities in at least two of the cluster countries (RO, BG, HU, CZ).
  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to translate business goals into actionable marketing plans.
  • Execution: A "hands-on" approach with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Desirable

  • Proficiency in an additional regional language (Hungarian, Czech, or Bulgarian).
  • Experience working in a global, matrix-structured organization.
  • Strong network of local media and event partners in the CEE region.
