Reporting to Head of Commercial, the role drives new business acquisition and revenue growth within defined mid-market maritime segments by promoting RightShip’s Safety, Environmental and Due Diligence solutions. Expand adoption of subscription-based digital products while strengthening customer understanding of maritime risk and ESG performance.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Revenue & Growth

  • Achieve annual sales targets across assigned territory or customer segment.
  • Acquire new logo customers within small-to-mid fleet operators and regional charterers.
  • Drive cross-sell and upsell of inspections, ESG tools, and risk intelligence services.
  • Develop and maintain a structured outbound sales pipeline through targeted prospecting, industry research and coordinated commercial outreach.
  • Progress opportunities through a structured sales process including customer discovery, product demonstrations and alignment to customer operational and compliance needs.

Customer Engagement

  • Build relationships with Fleet Managers, HSQE leaders, Commercial Managers and Sustainability leads.
  • Conduct structured discovery conversations to understand fleet risk profiles and compliance needs.
  • Position RightShip’s Safety Score, Environmental Rating and inspection services to address customer pain points.
  • Establish consistent engagement with prospective customers through structured interactions, including demonstrations, consultative discussions and solution positioning aligned to operational and ESG priorities.

Solution Selling

  • Present standard to moderately customized subscription solutions.
  • Negotiate within approved commercial frameworks.
  • Support onboarding transition to Customer Success.

Market Intelligence

  • Gather regional insights on regulatory change (IMO, decarbonisation, sanctions, etc.).
  • Represent RightShip at regional maritime forums and events.
  • Provide structured product and market feedback to Product and Technology teams to support continuous improvement of RightShip’s digital solutions.

CRM & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting data.
  • Ensure compliance with RightShip commercial governance and contracting policies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Maritime Studies, Marketing or related discipline
  • The ability to recognise, develop and secure growth within the existing customer base preferably within the Maritime Industry and/or software sales
  • 5–8 years of B2B sales experience, ideally within a SaaS or data-driven solutions environment, preferably within the maritime or related industries.
  • Understanding of shipping operations, vessel risk or compliance frameworks.
  • Experience selling subscription or data-driven solutions.
