What’s the Role?
Molding and Core Making Shift Foreperson – Chilca Project

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled leader to lead our molding, core making, shake out, and sand reclamation operations. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring operations follow standards and procedures while managing a team of 11 to 30 operators. You will work in a collaborative environment focused on operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Leadership: Lead molding, core making, shake out, and sand reclamation activities, including mold box loading, core setting, stripping, coating, and closing molds.
  • Safety & Quality: Act as a role model for a safer work environment, ensuring full implementation of safety systems and quality compliance observations.
  • Resource Management: Allocate resources, coordinate maintenance plans, and align molding activities to meet the pouring plan and customer priorities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for improvement, participate in Value Stream Analysis, and reduce waste.
  • Reporting: Ensure accurate entry of production information in workshop log sheets and submit shift reports.

Our Ideal Candidate meets the following criteria:

Qualifications:

  • Education: Technical degree in Chemical or Metallurgical processes, or a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical, Chemical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience: 5 years of supervisory experience in foundry environments (for technicians) or 3 years leading teams in high-risk industries (for engineers).
  • Skills: Proficiency in foundry equipment operation and ability to guide others through work instructions.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Strong problem-solving, effective communication, and a "One Team" collaborative mindset.

Location: The position will be based at our Chilca Foundry, located at G74J+WH, Chilca 15870 (transportation will be provided).
