Freeform is building something that very few companies are capable of building. This role exists to make that work visible in a way that people immediately understand and want to be part of.
We are looking for a passionate content producer to lead Freeform’s in-house narrative and storytelling initiatives. You will design, build, and operate the system that turns Freeform’s engineering and development work into cinematic storytelling - owning both the architecture and the output. This is not a traditional content role. It is a system-builder who can also execute. The system starts with one operator and grows into a small creative pod over time.
Ultimately, this becomes an extension of the company itself - engineers seen doing real work, processes shown clearly, moments captured as they happen. You will play an integral role in showing the world the transformative work that Freeform is doing.
Responsibilities:
Narrative System Design
Build the full storytelling system from capture through delivery
Create repeatable formats that keep output consistent
Set standards for shooting, editing, and organization
Ensure the system works with one person and scales cleanly
Embedded Documentary Capture
Stay embedded in the company day to day
Capture real work, conversations, and progress as they happen
Focus on authenticity - no staging, no interviews
Build trust across teams to maintain sustained access
Production & Post Execution
Shoot, direct, and edit master pieces to a strong visual and editorial standard
Work within a realistic production pace
Pull only the strongest moments into supporting content
Narrative Distribution
Decide what goes where and why
Keep each platform clean and intentional
Prioritize quality over volume
Creative Infrastructure
Build and maintain gear, workflows, and file systems
Keep everything simple, repeatable, and reliable
Document the system so it can be handed off or scaled
Leadership Integration
Stay in direct contact with leadership one to two times per week
Spot important moments early and stay aligned with what matters
Decide together what is worth capturing before it passes
Basic Requirements:
5+ years of film/content production experience
Experience with technical storytelling (aerospace, defense-tech, robotics, AI, automotive, consumer-tech, or similar)
Ability to shoot, direct, and edit to a professional standard
Nice to Have:
A filmmaker's eye with a systems thinker's brain
Strong instincts for what makes a story worth telling
Comfort operating in unstructured, fast-moving environments
Experience building workflows and creative infrastructure from scratch
Track record of working with trust and access inside an organization
Low ego, high craft - the work comes first
Formal education in filmmaking
