We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payment Contract Specialist with strong expertise in payments, fintech, and commercial agreements. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the payments industry, regulatory requirements, contractual negotiations, and risk management, to help strengthen and support our payments team.
 
Responsibilities
  • Review, draft, and negotiate a broad range of contracts within the payments ecosystem, including but no limited to merchant agreements, acquiring contracts, payment gateway agreements, referral contracts and payment facilitator agreements, ensuring alignment with legal, regulatory, and business requirements. 
  • Identify potential legal risks and liabilities within contractual arrangements and recommend appropriate mitigation measures. 
  • Conduct comprehensive legal due diligence on payment service providers and prospective partners. 
  • Monitor developments in payment industry regulation (including PCI DSS, GDPR, and AML/KYC frameworks), and provide timely, actionable guidance on their implications for the business. 
  • Carry out legal risk assessments in connection with new payment products, services, and integrations. 
  • Collaborate closely with legal, compliance, finance, and product teams, providing clear and practical legal support and guidance on payment-related matters. 
  • Ensure that all contractual documentation remains compliant with applicable regulatory standards and internal policies. 

Requirements

  • University degree in Law or a related field. 
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in contract law, preferably focused on payment services, financial services, or commercial agreements. 
  • Strong knowledge of payment processing, merchant services, and the relevant regulatory environment. 
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and contract drafting skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy. 

Would be a plus

  • Experience working with merchant agreements and cross-border payment regulations.
  • Familiarity with digital payment technologies and developments in the fintech sector
  • Previous experience in the gaming industry, particularly in payments, will be considered an advantage
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders.
