Michels Canada is seeking a Payroll Systems Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert for the Trimble Construction Payroll Module and support the implementation of Workday in partnership with the Global ERP Team. Working closely with our Business Analyst and IT teams, you will play a key role in testing, integrating, and optimizing new applications within our ERP environment. This position will be based out of our Nisku location and reports directly to our Payroll Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and promoting a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identifying and communicating workplace hazards and correcting or seeking assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for testing new product applications within Viewpoint.
  • Executing and coordinating payroll testing for new and existing product applications.
  • Ensuring all new applications meet or exceed applicable government legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Partnering with Business Analysts and HRIS Administrators to ensure that systems and applications comply with legislative standards, internal controls, audit requirements, and company expectations.
  • Developing, maintaining, and documenting testing protocols and operational processes.
  • Providing backup support to payroll team members as required, supporting both field and office operations.
  • Upholding company culture and core values by adhering to Michels Canada's Standards and Policies and working with others to promote and preserve our values while conducting your duties to contribute to a positive and professional work environment.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of payroll-related experience, including full cycle payroll, audit management, analysis and reporting.
  • Experience supporting or participating in ERP system implementations.
  • Experience with Trimble/Viewpoint ERP considered an asset.
  • Payroll Certification (e.g., NPI’s Payroll Compliance Practitioner, PCP) is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Workday preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
