Why this role?

Our teams deliver highly regulated, technically complex and large‑scale engineering and construction projects across the UK and Europe. We’ve built a strong reputation for excellence in design, governance and digital delivery - supported by rigorous BIM processes, structured information management and a culture of continuous improvement.

As demand for high‑quality BIM management continues to grow, an opportunity has arisen for a Principal BIM Information Manager to join our business. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how BIM is delivered across multiple projects, disciplines and clients, ensuring consistency, compliance and technical excellence at every stage.  Working alongside our multidisciplinary teams, you’ll influence how digital information supports design quality, safety, cost efficiency and long‑term asset value.

We also foster a healthy work‑life balance with regular opportunities to participate in team, social and professional development activities across the business.

About You

As a Principal BIM Information Manager, you will bring significant experience in managing BIM delivery on complex, multi‑disciplinary projects. Your background may span engineering, architecture, digital construction, or information management, but what sets you apart is your ability to combine management, technical rigour and commercial awareness.

You’ll be confident in managing multiple priorities, guiding BIM Information Managers, and building strong, trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. You understand the importance of delivering high‑quality information that meets industry standards, regulatory requirements and client expectations.

You will have experience in:

  • Leading and defining BIM approaches in line with industry standards, regulations and project‑specific requirements
  • Overseeing BIM delivery across several concurrent projects
  • Managing time, cost, quality and resource planning for BIM workstreams
  • Preparing and reviewing tender responses, fee proposals, scopes of work and change controls

Client care and repeat business are crucial to success, so the ability to collaborate, communicate clearly and act as a trusted advisor is essential.

Key Purpose

  • Provide senior leadership for BIM delivery across multiple teams and projects
  • Manage and develop BIM Information Managers, including recruitment, resourcing, mentoring and performance
  • Oversee BIM involvement in all allocated projects, including time, cost, quality and resource planning
  • Act as a senior BIM advisor to clients, helping shape Information Requirements and digital strategies
  • Champion quality, compliance and best practice across workflows, standards and model governance
  • Contribute to national BIM initiatives, continuous improvement and digital transformation programmes
  • Provide regular feedback to senior management on technical performance, risks, resourcing and opportunities

Deliverables

In this role, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of key BIM outputs, including:

  • EIR/BEP Documentation: Development, review and management of Exchange Information Requirements, BIM Execution Plans and project‑specific digital strategies
  • Model & Data Governance: Oversight of model coordination, clash detection, structured data delivery and compliance with agreed standards
  • Information Delivery Plans (IDP): Creation, maintenance and monitoring of delivery schedules for models, data and documentation
  • Project BIM Standards: Ensuring templates, naming conventions, workflows and processes align with ISO 19650 and client requirements
  • Quality Assurance Reports: Regular audits, compliance checks, technical reviews and reporting across all BIM deliverables
  • Client-Facing Outputs: Production or oversight of digital delivery reports, progress updates, dashboards and technical guidance
  • Commercial & Resource Tracking: Monitoring BIM inputs against fee, scope, time and resource commitments
  • Continuous Improvement Assets: Development of improved workflows, guidance materials, training content, toolkits and best‑practice documentation for the wider business
