We are looking for an experienced communications professional to take a leading role in day to day client servicing, media engagement and campaign execution. The role requires strong account management capabilities, sound judgment, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams while beginning to contribute at a strategic level.

The successful candidate will manage client relationships, oversee delivery by junior team members, and support the development of integrated communications programmes across media relations, research, events and content.

Principal Consultant - Financial & Corporate Communications

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead day to day account management, building trusted client relationships and ensuring high quality, timely delivery within scope.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on messaging, positioning and media engagement.
  • Manage and oversee work delivered by junior team members, providing guidance, quality control and mentorship.
  • Develop and execute media relations strategies, maintaining strong journalist relationships and proactively identifying coverage opportunities.
  • Conduct and apply research to inform communications strategies, campaigns and content development.
  • Oversee end to end planning and execution of events, ensuring smooth delivery and effective issue resolution.
  • Review, edit and draft high quality communications materials, including press releases, Q&As and thought leadership content.
  • Support new business development by identifying opportunities, contributing to proposals and participating in pitch presentations

The ideal candidate has:

  • Around 6-8 years of experience in financial public relations, with a strong focus on corporate communications and investor relations. A track record of serving financial institutions and multi-national corporations is preferred.
  • A demonstrable passion for finance and strong communication skills
  • Excellent spoken and written proficiency in both Chinese and English; with good spoken Mandarin
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in utilizing AI tools to improve efficiency and output quality
  • A proven ability to work effectively within a team
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in a relevant discipline including economics, finance, or communications
