BakerHicks · Warrington
Why this role?
Our electrical and power systems engineers specialise in highly regulated, safety‑critical and technically complex environments. With a proven track record in designing and examining power systems for some of the UK’s most challenging nuclear and high‑hazard facilities, we deliver engineering that is safe, compliant and built on robust technical standards.
As a Power Systems & Protection Engineer, you’ll work in a multi‑disciplinary environment supporting high‑integrity electrical infrastructure projects. From system modelling and protection coordination to arc flash studies and fault analysis, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the resilience and safety of essential power networks.
We’re looking for a Senior or Principal Engineer with robust expertise in power systems, protection, and electrical safety — someone who can deliver high‑quality analysis, guide multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to developing engineering standards across our organisation.
We also pride ourselves on promoting a healthy work–life balance, with a supportive team culture and opportunities for professional growth, technical development and community engagement.
About You
You are an experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in power systems analysis, protection engineering and electrical safety, ideally in nuclear or other highly regulated sectors. You bring technical depth, analytical precision and the ability to develop safe and resilient solutions for complex electrical networks.
You’ll join a collaborative and technically focused team where quality, safety and continuous improvement are central. You will work closely with engineers across disciplines, contribute to engineering standards, and support both project delivery and long‑term asset improvements.
Your confident communication skills and stakeholder awareness ensure you can work effectively with clients, project teams and end‑users — especially in environments involving aging assets, operational constraints and strict safety rules.
