Product Data Lead, Soho Home - 6 Month FTC

About this role

The Role...

Responsible for leading product data management and governance, ensuring data integrity and rationalisation to establish a centralised, reliable data set. This role drives process improvements and supports the business in preparing for the rollout of Power BI through structured, insight-led data practices. It owns and develops the organisation’s data foundations, ensuring they are clean, governed, scalable, and fit for purpose as the business transitions to a data lake and enhanced reporting environment. This role reports directly to the Buying & Product Development team whilst being responsible for delivering cross functional collaboration.  

Key Responsibilities..

  • Define and own data governance framework (standards, naming conventions, hierarchies, approval processes)  
  • Lead large-scale data cleanse and rationalisation across product, supplier and commercial data, ensuring standardisation and completeness
  • Lead end-to-end SKU creation across multiple projects, ensuring alignment with critical path timelines
  • Own and enforce a single source of truth for organisational data
  • Design data structures to support future data lake architecture-  enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of data workflows
  • Partner with tech teams on data pipelines, integrations and system readiness
  • Own Power BI data model strategy (ensuring outputs are robust and scalable)
  • Act as final approver / gatekeeper for data changes and integrity
  • Identify risks (e.g. duplication, inconsistency, gaps) and implement controls
  • Line manage the Data Coordinator 

Skills & Experience required

  • Experience managing large datasets and data governance frameworks
  • Strong Power BI and advanced Excel skills 
  • Data cleansing, standardisation, and transformation experience
  • Understanding of data structures, pipelines, and integrations
  • Strong organisation, problem-solving, and ability to independently manage multiple deadlines within structured timelines
  • Confident stakeholder management and communication skills to inform go-forward decision making and processes
  • 3 + years of relevant / equivalent demonstrated experience  

Desirable (Not Essential) 

  • Experience with wider product data, Merchandising systems, or ERP platforms
  • Experience with Retail Operations, Buying, or Product Development/ Data environments
