The role
At Rightmove we are investing heavily in the future of our business - growing our existing revenue streams, exploring new commercial opportunities, leveraging AI, upgrading infrastructure and onboarding new tooling and capabilities.
We’re looking for a hands-on Project Manager to lead initiatives that typically span multiple product, platform, and business teams. You will be expected to drive outcomes, bring structure to ambiguous problems and ensure progress across complex dependencies.
We run lean and value people who go beyond narrow role definitions. In this role, you’ll be expected to get close to the detail, building a deep understanding of your projects and carrying out hands-on analysis where required.
What you’ll be doing
- Take ownership of project outcomes ensuring alignment, collaboration, and effective delivery across all involved stakeholders
- Create and maintain project plans, ensuring that dependencies are well understood
- Ensure scope is managed effectively and projects stay focused on agreed goals and outcomes
- Establish and maintain effective governance and status reporting without disrupting Agile practices.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and take responsibility for project communication
- Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and blockers and ensure risk mitigation activities are undertaken
- Where required, agree and co-ordinate business change activity to ensure that affected stakeholders aren’t adversely affected by any project-led changes
- Where required, track project costs and manage procurement activity
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lead retros to identify actionable improvements to our ways of working
- Where required, perform detailed analysis to understand problems, help shape solutions and support decision-making
We’re looking for someone who
- is flexible and adaptable
- Brings energy and drive and can be trusted to get things done
- Has great written and oral communication skills
- Is endlessly curious about the subject matter of the programmes they are delivering
- Can switch between analytical work and delivery coordination with ease
- Is a people person and emotionally intelligent
- Is honest and has integrity
What you’ll bring to the role
Essential
- Repeated experience of managing a wide range of cross-team projects, particularly in the software delivery space
- Experience of working for a tech-focused company with a modern product-led organisation structure
- Strong working knowledge of agile methodologies, agile at scale and more traditional project management techniques
- Demonstrated ability to lead without direct authority, influencing diverse teams with varying priorities.
- Demonstrated experience of performing detailed analysis within complex projects
Ideally
- Past experience of hands-on roles in technology teams (and ideally as a business analyst or similar).
- Demonstrated experience of leading business change activities to ensure adoption of new systems and ways of working
Our approach to AI:
At Rightmove, we believe software and product are ultimately people problems, and everything we build aims to improve the lives of others. We see AI as a helpful way to create more space for the human side of our work, from understanding real needs to making sure we are solving the right problems in the right way. There is an expectation that you are proactive in exploring how AI can support your own workflow and productivity, and that you approach it with curiosity and an open mind.
