Critical Mass is hiring for a contract Project Manager. This is a hands-on contract role on a fast-paced comms team creating impactful digital marketing material for prominent products and campaigns. You'll manage projects with real scope, meaningful timelines, and direct visibility to senior stakeholders. This role is perfect for someone who can hit the ground running, thrives under pressure, and delivers excellence consistently.

This role is a contract role from June 1 through Sept 25, 2026.  Due to confidentiality requirements, this role’s requisite is to work in our Calgary office 5 days per week.


 You Will:

  • Lead digital marketing projects across multiple platforms and channels, ensuring creative objectives are well-defined and executed on strategy, on time, and within budget
  • Partner with creative teams, technology partners, and business stakeholders to guide digital communications efforts across a range of platforms
  • Manage projects from scoping and planning through delivery, coordinating both engineering and creative teams through complex initiatives
  • Communicate strategic direction and high-level concepts clearly to all levels of the organization, distilling business strategy and proposed solutions for project teams
  • Own project execution: prioritizing deliverables, managing timelines, and refining processes in real-time based on project requirements
  • Identify risks and dependencies across cross-functional plans, taking proactive steps to mitigate challenges and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Develop marketing content strategies and oversee execution across multiple digital platforms and partner channels
  • Collaborate effectively with producers, agency teams, creative, and development partners on an ongoing basis to drive project success
  • Work independently and confidently with partners to provide insights and recommendations on interactive marketing strategies
  • Present project updates and solutions independently to senior stakeholders, demonstrating clear thinking and confidence in recommendations
  • Operate effectively under tight deadlines with the flexibility to accommodate changes and shifting priorities

 

 You Have:

  • 4+ years of digital project management experience, with 2+ years demonstrably guiding both engineering and creative teams through complex projects—preferably with interactive agency or comparable brand experience
  • Experience developing and managing digital communications across multiple channels and platforms (web, email, mobile, partner assets, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency in digital communication platforms, technologies, and current industry advancements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across creative, technical, and business teams
  • A proven can-do attitude and track record of delivering results and hitting milestones and deadlines under pressure
  • Outstanding organizational skills with a passion for identifying efficiencies and streamlining processes
  • The ability to thrive in a creative and dynamic environment—you embrace ambiguity and don't need extensive ramp-up time
  • Strong relationship-building capabilities with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Proficiency with project management tools and the ability to organize information quickly and summarize it succinctly
  • A solutions-oriented mindset and the confidence to recommend and stand behind the right approach
