The Opportunity:
LG Electronics Alabama is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Purchasing Specialist to support our global procurement operations and ensure the seamless availability of critical materials. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the overseas sourcing of service parts by collaborating closely with a diverse network of international and domestic suppliers. Your efforts will be essential in maintaining reliable inventory levels and fostering strong supplier relationships to meet our daily operational demands.
As LG Electronics actively modernizes traditional, labor-intensive supply chain practices, you will also serve as a key driver of our digital transformation efforts. You will play a pivotal role in leading initiatives centered around market and policy analysis, AI-driven demand forecasting, and the implementation of automated procurement systems. By leveraging these advanced technologies, you will help streamline processes, empower data-driven business decisions, and ultimately enhance overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead global sourcing initiatives to introduce LG service parts on time and ensure availability of parts to meet customers’ expectations
- Lead projects to dramatically improve supply chain productivity and operational processes
- AI-driven demand forecasting, overseas supplier management, etc.
- Collaborate with other departments, including engineering, and quality assurance, sales to ensure that procurement goals are aligned with organizational objectives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of 3 years of work experience
- Strong problem-solving skills, data-driven thinking, and positive attitude
- Effective cross-functional communicator and excel on collaborative fast-paced teams
- Interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive issues, ambiguous situations, and dramatic change
- High proficiency in Microsoft Applications: Excel, PowerPoint
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau
- Experience with modern AI‑assisted development approaches (e.g., “vibe coding”)
- Bilingual English and Korean (PREFERRED)
