About this role

Overview

Put your AI focused skills to the test as you work alongside senior staff to design and develop the next generation of Esri's innovative agentic software.

Responsibilities

Depending on your areas of study and interest, you'll work on our desktop, web, and or AI related product teams.

This past summer, interns in Software Development worked on a wide range of challenging projects such as:

  • Creating, running, and analyzing automated and manual tests for the latest AI unitalities consumed by varies of ArcGIS products
  • Creating TypeScript tools to support the development of the latest agentic software products
  • Helping validate and evaluate spec-driving AI co-development processes to increase development productivity
  • Helping convert, combine, and organize development documents to build RAG based knowledge base

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a 4 year undergraduate, graduate or PhD program majoring in computer science, computer engineering or a related field. Undergraduates must be in a junior or senior standing
  • Hands on experience using AI tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, Codex, Antigravity, OpenClaw
  • Familiar with the latest agentic concepts and implementation
  • Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript or Java
  • Existing work authorization for China

Recommended Qualifications

  • Experience with geospatial technology
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3
