Lucid Motors is building our Retail Accessories and Merchandise team in Newark, CA (SF Bay Area). We are currently seeking a Retail Accessories and Merchandise Inventory Product Planner to join our collaborative team. This role will coordinate inventory needs for Lucid’s growing eCommerce and Retail channels as well as corporate and employee programs.
The Retail Accessories and Merchandise Inventory Product Planner will support the Retail Accessories and Merchandise team as we expand our global retail and e-commerce business. This role will be responsible for maintaining the right quantity of Lucid product is always in the right location at the right time, and will be accountable for inventory KPI’s. This role will collaborate extensively with many cross-functional teams and stakeholders. This is an in-office role and sits in Newark, CA.
The Role
- Analyze historical data and trends to develop category and product-level inventory plans supporting division objectives.
- Responsible for ensuring the correct inventory levels are available in each location at all times.
- Monitor product and location performance, providing regular reporting and data analytics.
- Maintain SKU level forecasts and product purchase needs to meet those forecasts.
- Ensure inventory levels and aging does not exceed division targets.
- Create and execute location-based inventory plans, that reflect local sales patterns and communicate regularly with associated retail managers.
- Collaborate with the Retail Accessories and Merchandise team to ensure consistency of information, share best practices, and develop systems knowledge.
- Generate Purchase Requests
- Maintain product delivery schedules internally and externally
- Foster vendor relationships and maintain operational communication
- Support inventory management between retail, e-commerce, and wholesale channels
- Ensure timely and accurate execution in support of New Store Opening inventory needs
- Identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Support the Retail Accessories and Merchandise team with other duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field – business, finance, or supply chain preferred.
- 5+ years of previous experience in inventory planning, allocation, purchasing or related supply chain role, multi-unit retail experience preferred.
- Financial and business acumen, ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to drive results.
- Strong SAP or Coupa Experience is preferred, especially in purchasing/procurement transactions.
- Strong Shopify or BigCommerce Experience is preferred, especially in inventory and transaction reporting.
- Proficiency in Retail Metrics (Sales, Inventory, Sell Through, Weeks of Supply, Trend based forecasting, Revenue and Margin), and the ability to develop data driven allocation decisions.
- Comfort with ambiguity and passion/excitement for building new tools and processes.
- Track record of success in developing relationships with cross-functional teams both internal and external.
- Must be highly organized and have strong attention to detail.
- Positive/go-getter, team player, who can also work independently, with the ability to troubleshoot and work in a fast-moving environment.
- Excels at working with and analyzing data, strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Start-up experience working in complex operational environments is a plus.
