Schedule: This is a 2nd shift position, Monday–Friday from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Purpose

The Robotic Assembly Technician is an essential part of the production team, responsible for operating and supporting automated robotic assembly equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role focuses on consistent production output, equipment reliability, and adherence to safety and quality standards within the Divergent Adaptive Production System (DAPS).  

The Role

As a Robotic Assembly Technician, you will perform hands-on work operating robotic assembly cells, monitoring production processes, and keeping equipment running safely and efficiently. You will work directly on the production floor, supporting daily schedules, meeting output targets, and ensuring high-quality assemblies for automotive, aerospace, and defense products. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Operation & Production 

  • Operate robotic assembly cells according to daily production plans. 
  • Run start-up, dry runs, collision checks, and shut-down procedures. 
  • Monitor part flow, cycle times, and machine performance to stay on schedule. 
  • Make basic adjustments to equipment settings to maintain consistent operation. 
  • Follow all work instructions, quality standards, and SOPs. 
  • Assist with routine preventative maintenance tasks to reduce downtime. 
  • Identify and escalate equipment or process issues as appropriate. 

Team Collaboration 

  • Work with other technicians and operators to keep production running smoothly. 
  • Support training of new team members when needed. 
  • Provide clear shift handoff notes to maintain continuity 

Safety & Housekeeping 

  • Follow all safety protocols around robotic equipment and moving machinery. 
  • Help keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. 
  • Report any unsafe conditions or concerns immediately. 

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent. 
  • 1–3 years of experience operating industrial robots (Kuka, ABB, FANUC, Yaskawa) or automated equipment in a production setting. 
  • Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. 
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or other high-precision manufacturing environments preferred. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders as required. 
  • Strong communication skills and a dependable work ethic. 
  • Ability to follow SOPs and execute work with increasing independence. 
  • Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to US export controls 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating Kuka 6-axis robots or similar robotic manipulators. 
  • Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment and HMI interfaces. 
  • Experience with automated adhesive dispensing equipment. 
  • Background in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing. 

Work Environment

  • Work near moving mechanical and robotic equipment. 
  • Standing, bending, and hands-on tasks for most of the shift. 
  • Occasional overtime or weekend work based on production needs. 
  • Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety. 

Compensation

At Divergent, our pay range is based on the level of the job. For this role, we will consider candidates at levels TCH 01 - TCH 03 as evaluated through our interview process. 

  • TCH 01: $30.00 - $41.00/hour 
  • TCH 02: $35.00 - $48.00/hour
  • TCH 03: $40.00 - $55.00/hour 
Pay Range
$30—$55 USD
