Position Title: Senior Accountant (Temp) 

Studio/Department: Daybreak Games / Accounting / Finance 

Employee Type: Full Time, Temporary 

Location: San Diego, CA  Hybrid 

Salary Range: $28.00/hr - $35.00/hr 

 

Description

• Lead accurate and timely recognition of revenue (subscription, licensing, in-game purchases, etc.) per ASC 606.
• Participate in the month-end closing process by posting journal entries to the general ledger.
• Assist in the preparation of revenue schedules, forecasts, and KPIs.
• Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations.
• Assist with financial and tax audits.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit processes related to revenue recognition and tax obligations.
• Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team and with other departments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred or working toward certification.
• 3+ years of diverse experience in the accounting field; gaming industry experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606, sales taxes, VAT regulations, and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, lookups, etc.).
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP or IFRS standards.
• Sage Intacct experience a plus.
• Well-developed communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
