About the Role
The Middle Office External Alpha team supports External Alpha Asset Managers by providing trade support, cash, position and pricing reconciliation functions. The team also calculates estimated Net Asset Values (NAV) of funds. These estimates are reconciled to final NAVs generated by the Fund Administrator.
As a Senior Analyst, you will run key operational processes independently while continuing to develop broader technical and operational expertise. You will also contribute to the development of tools and reporting solutions – used widely across the firm – leveraging AI, Excel and internal databases to deliver critical reporting and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Analytics
- Review and analyse fund P&L accounts across asset classes to support performance reporting for the External Alpha business
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and estimates of fund NAVs, including checking accrued income and expenses
- Review reconciliations between Custodians, Prime Brokers and internal records; coordinate investigation and correction of breaks
- Liaise with fund administrator(s) to reconcile final fund NAVs
- Ensure integrity of Asset Manager data and prices in internal systems
- Work with internal tools and databases to deliver reporting and analytics
Trade & Fund Support
- Provide trade support functions and fund of fund trade execution as required
- Process corporate actions
- Monitor investment restrictions
- Support liquidity management
Technical Development
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems, controls and workflows
- Drive process improvements and automation initiatives
- Learn and utilise programming tools to enhance team processes and reporting
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with team members and other departments on daily activities and long-term projects
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to various stakeholders

- Excellent communication skills and confidence to raise questions
- Demonstrated ability to learn new concepts quickly
- Strong understanding of traded financial instruments

Desirable
- Experience in Financial Services (investment bank, asset management firm or Treasury function)
- Professional qualifications (CFA, accounting qualifications) or studying towards them
- Experience with Feeder/Master fund structures
- Knowledge of Fund Accounting
