Senior Consultant, Productivity

West Monroe · Dallas

onsitefull-timesenior level

About this role

Are you ready to make an impact?

West Monroe is seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Operations Excellence Practice within our Productivity discipline. Our teams partner with clients to solve complex operational challenges—helping organizations redesign how work gets done by combining process optimization, workforce insights, and technology (including AI) to unlock measurable productivity gains.

Unlike traditional process improvement roles, our consultants work at the intersection of strategy and execution, translating ambiguous business problems into actionable solutions that drive real financial and operational outcomes.

What You’ll Do

Solve complex operational problems in a client-facing environment

  • Structure and lead analyses of current-state operations to identify inefficiencies across processes, workforce utilization, and performance management systems
  • Translate business challenges into data-driven insights and actionable recommendations
  • Work directly with client stakeholders to align on priorities, trade-offs, and implementation plans

Drive process and workforce optimization initiatives

  • Redesign business processes to improve throughput, reduce cost, and enhance quality
  • Analyze labor models, workforce productivity, and capacity to identify optimization opportunities
  • Develop quantified value cases (e.g., cost savings, cycle time reduction, capacity unlock) to support recommendations

Enable AI and technology-driven productivity improvements

  • Identify and prioritize opportunities to embed AI and automation into workflows
  • Design future-state processes that incorporate AI augmentation, decision support, and workflow automation
  • Partner with technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable solutions

Deliver results and support implementation

  • Support end-to-end project delivery, from diagnostic through execution
  • Build tools, models, and dashboards (often in Excel or similar platforms) to track performance and outcomes
  • Help drive adoption by working closely with client teams during implementation

Contribute to team and client growth

  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to a high-performing team environment
  • Support business development through research, proposal development, and client presentations
  • Build relationships with clients and within the broader West Monroe network

What You’ll Bring

  • 4–6 years of experience, ideally within a management consulting environment or in a highly analytical, project-based role
  • Experience solving problems related to business process optimization, workforce/labor analytics, or operational performance improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to break down ambiguous problems and develop structured, data-driven solutions
  • Experience building quantitative models (e.g., cost, capacity, productivity, or ROI analyses)
  • Exposure to or experience with AI, automation, or advanced analytics applied to business processes (e.g., workflow automation, decision support tools, GenAI use cases)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work in a client-facing, fast-paced consulting environment

Preferred:

  • Prior experience at a consulting firm
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies (applied in a business context)
  • Experience contributing to proposals, workplans, or client presentations

Additional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, engineering, operations, analytics)
  • Ability to travel (~50%)
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship
