🚀 About the Team
You will join the Data Platform team within Wakam’s Data Office. The team is at the core of Wakam’s data ecosystem and is responsible for building a reliable, scalable, and high-performing platform that supports business use cases, analytics, and product innovation.
Working in an Azure and Snowflake ecosystem, the team approaches data with strong software engineering practices, a DevSecOps mindset, and an Agile / Product way of working.
🎯 Your Mission
To support Wakam’s strong growth, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who is passionate about technical excellence, treats data engineering with the discipline of software development, and enjoys building in an Agile environment with a strong Product mindset.
As part of the Data Platform team, you will contribute to the scoping, design, and development of functional and technical enhancements to the platform, helping us manage our end-to-end data flows in a robust, scalable, and maintainable way.
✏️ Your Responsibilities
Data Pipeline Design & Development
You will design, specify, develop, and document data pipelines for extraction, loading, and transformation using technologies such as Python, SQL / dbt on Snowflake, and orchestration tools such as Prefect. You will work within a DevSecOps build-and-run approach, ensuring our end-to-end data platform is reliable and scalable.
Agile Delivery & Product Collaboration
You will work in an Agile setup, closely with Product Owners and Business Analysts, translating business needs into technical implementation. This includes breaking down user stories into tasks, estimating complexity and effort, contributing to delivery planning, and supporting UAT when needed.
Quality, Performance & Engineering Best Practices
You will ensure the quality and performance of developments by implementing automated testing, continuous deployment strategies, and robust engineering standards. You will also help define and enforce best practices across the team.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
You will proactively suggest improvements to strengthen the Data Platform, contribute to Proofs of Concept as part of R&D initiatives, and take part in technology watch and knowledge sharing with peers.
🧠 What You Bring
You have at least large experience in a similar role and have already worked in a Modern Data Stack environment on a Data Platform.
You bring strong hands-on skills in:
- Python, including libraries such as pandas, pySpark, Great Expectations
- SQL, with strong transformation capabilities; experience with dbt is a plus
- Snowflake
- Orchestration tools such as Prefect
- Software development practices such as Git, Clean Code, automated testing, REST APIs
- DevOps concepts and tools including CI/CD, Docker, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes
You are also comfortable working in English in a professional context, both written and spoken.
