Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead, you will be responsible for delivering design, development, and engineering services across our diverse product portfolio, while working closely with regional stakeholders.

 

About the Role

As a Senior Design Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise to deliver solutions that directly impact our customer operations and performance. This role involves close collaboration with the Regional Sales Manager based in Panama, combining engineering excellence with strong customer engagement.

This is a remote role, requiring regular technical site visits and consistent check-ins at mining operations to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. The role follows a Monday to Friday schedule, with a flexible working approach to support a healthy work-life balance. There are no shift-based mining schedules associated with this position. Success is measured through performance, a strong One Bradken mindset, and a results-driven, goal-oriented approach.

You will play a key role supporting a major regional mining operation, ensuring delivery of contractual engineering commitments including on-site technical support, regular inspections, performance monitoring, and identification of optimization opportunities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced 3D models for high-wear applications, ensuring optimal material flow.
  • Execute 3D DEM simulations to predict wear patterns, optimize liner profiles, and validate performance.
  • Perform precision reverse engineering of components to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Produce detailed 2D technical drawings for manufacturing and installation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Regional Sales Manager (Panama) to translate customer needs into high-performance engineering solutions.
  • Conduct regular technical site visits and maintain ongoing engagement with mining operations.
  • Identify cost-saving and performance improvement opportunities.

 

Skills & Technical Criteria

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong expertise in Ansys FEA and DEM software.
  • High proficiency in CAD software (Unigraphics NX), including advanced 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
  • Proven experience developing innovative products aligned with customer operational needs.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • Understanding of project management or related tools
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

 

Valuable (Not Mandatory)

  • Knowledge of mineral processing circuits and material handling equipment (conveyors, chutes, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Teamcenter PLM.
  • Experience supporting mining operations in Latin America and/or other markets.
