We design, build, and operate the world’s largest autonomous logistics system, delivering critical supplies quickly and reliably. Today, Zipline operates on four continents, makes a delivery somewhere in the world every 30 seconds, and has completed millions of deliveries to date, including blood, vaccines, medical supplies, food, and retail products.
Our customers include the world’s largest and most prominent healthcare systems, governments, retailers, restaurants and global businesses who rely on us to save lives, reduce emissions, increase economic opportunity, and provide delivery from point A to point B as fast as possible. The drone is only 15% of what we’ve built to enable seamless, reliable, global operations.
Our system strengthens supply chains, reduces congestion, and gives people time back. With more than 140 million commercial autonomous miles safely flown, Zipline is redefining access to healthcare, consumer products, and food across the globe.
We operate at a global scale and are looking for practical problem solvers who thrive on real-world challenges and rapid growth. Our team is motivated by building systems that have a direct, meaningful impact on people’s lives and by scaling the future of logistics. We are seeking people who sculpt from first principles, enjoy facing adversity, and can do the impossible at record breaking speeds.
About You and The Role
Zipline is seeking a Senior Logistics Operator to own outbound logistics operations from our main factory in South San Francisco. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable, high-quality distribution and fulfillment of finished goods and spare parts to commercial deployments and test operations.
You will operate at the center of Zipline’s physical supply chain—owning daily outbound execution while also improving the systems, processes, and decisions that enable scale. You will be expected to handle ambiguity, anticipate downstream impacts, and drive outcomes end-to-end with minimal oversight.
You will own outbound distribution performance, including on-time shipment, fulfillment accuracy, lead times, and cost efficiency—ensuring consistent, high-quality outcomes for internal and external customers.
What You'll Do
You will own both execution and performance of outbound logistics, including:
- Own end-to-end outbound logistics operations, ensuring on-time, accurate, and reliable shipments
- Own and improve key outbound performance metrics, including on-time shipment, order accuracy, lead time, and cost
- Plan and prioritize daily shipment execution across competing demands (commercial, test, internal transfers)
- Anticipate constraints and proactively resolve risks across inventory, packaging, carrier capacity, and documentation
- Coordinate closely with manufacturing, supply chain planning, test, and commercial teams to align on priorities and timelines
- Ensure high-quality order fulfillment (pick, pack, label, documentation) with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Select and coordinate transportation modes (parcel, LTL, FTL, air, hand-carry) based on urgency, cost, and reliability
- Track shipments end-to-end, proactively managing exceptions and ensuring successful delivery outcomes
- Own shipping documentation and compliance requirements (packing lists, commercial invoices, export documentation where applicable)
- Identify root causes of performance gaps (delays, errors, inefficiencies) and implement durable solutions
- Monitor, analyze, and report on outbound metrics; use data to drive continuous improvement and decision-making
- Drive improvements in outbound processes, packaging, workflows, and transportation strategy to improve performance and scalability
- Build scalable processes and standards as Zipline expands its manufacturing and deployment footprint
- Maintain high standards for safety, quality, and operational excellence
What You'll Bring

- 3–5+ years of experience in logistics, fulfillment, or supply chain operations
- Experience owning or coordinating outbound shipments and working with transportation providers
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory systems (WMS/ERP), and shipping workflows
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing or production environments
- Familiarity with domestic and/or international shipping and trade requirements
- Experience with multiple freight modes (parcel, LTL, FTL, air freight)

- Experience working cross-functionally with planning, operations, and commercial teams
Key Skills and Competencies
