The role: What's in the Box
Factor is a healthy, ready-to-heat meal delivery service that has built a category-defining business in the US and Canada. Now we’re building Factor in Europe, and although we have strong blueprints from North America, we still need to tune our proposition to our European customers.
As our Sr. Manager of Product Strategy, you will define and deliver the physical product roadmap for Factor Europe, helping us achieve product-market fit across all five of our European markets. You will research, validate, and articulate our customers’ “jobs to be done”, driving key decisions around our product assortment, pricing, and value proposition as a result. As a critical part of our Product team, you will be the ultimate champion of our customer: building a thorough understanding of their behaviours, needs, and pain points, and relentlessly iterating on our offering as we shape the future of the ready-to-heat category in Europe.
This is a rare kind of role: the strategic ownership of a senior leader, inside a business with real infrastructure and resources behind it, but with the ambiguity and pace of an early-stage startup. If you have a builder mindset, love deep-diving into data, and have a well-honed intuition for what makes great products work, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll do: The Recipe
- Define our customer “jobs to be done”
- Develop an extremely detailed understanding of the Factor Europe customer, using every source of quantitative and qualitative information at your disposal: internal data, external research, customer interviews, surveys, and more.
- Develop, iterate, and validate key hypotheses about how we can best address the needs and pain points of our customers, identifying where the US/CA model translates, where it doesn’t, and what needs to be built differently for European markets.
- Build and deliver our product roadmap
- Develop a compelling physical product roadmap (product categories, dietary preferences, pricing, formats, etc) that identifies our greatest opportunities and focuses the team on our most important priorities, in collaboration with peer leaders across Culinary, Marketing, Operations, and other functions.
- Lead each initiative on your roadmap through the full product lifecycle: from scoping and business case through to launch and measurement. Be prepared to be hands-on.
- Partner with our Digital Product team, advocating for the digital experience that best supports our physical offering.
- Optimize customer retention and engagement
- Own customer retention as your north star metric. Work relentlessly to close the gap between where we are today and the levels we see in our best performing markets, and develop a clear, evidence-based view of what’s driving the difference.
- Work with our Digital Product team to prioritise experiments that optimise product performance, creating business cases and connecting product decisions to commercial outcomes.
- Share learnings widely across other brands and geographies, and partner with them to continuously improve the way we work and the results we achieve.
What you’ll bring: The Ingredients
- Strategic thinker who thrives in ambiguity. You can take an ill-defined problem, structure it, and chart a path forward, even when the data is incomplete.
- Analytically rigorous and data-fluent. You’re comfortable querying your own data and interrogating experiment results.
- Strong product and customer sense. You have sharp intuition for what customers want, grounded in a disciplined approach to discovery and validation. You’ve built or shaped products that people love.
- Commercial mindset. You understand how product decisions flow through to the P&L.
- Cross-functional operator. You love to roll up your own sleeves, but also know how to get things done through other teams. You build trust quickly, drive execution through influence, and know how to get the right priorities on other teams’ roadmaps.
- Exceptional communicator and storyteller. You write and present with clarity and conviction, from strategy narratives to product briefs.
- Experience: 5-7+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, or a comparable role.
- Technical toolkit: Advanced skill in Excel/Google Sheets and proficiency with SQL is required.
- Strong preference for:
- You have experience with subscription or DTC businesses: you've worked on retention, lifecycle, and recurring revenue models.
- You’ve been an early product or strategy hire at a company finding its footing in a new market or segment.
- You have experience in physical products / FMCG, especially food & beverage.
- You’ve worked across multiple European markets and understand how consumer preferences vary across the continent.
Food and/or nutrition obsessed!
