How You'll Make an Impact

We are looking for a market-facing and technically credible Senior Manager – Tech Sales who combines strong business acumen with deep technical understanding. This role goes beyond traditional sales, you will act as a trusted advisor to clients, positioning our solutions with credibility, clarity, and authority.

As the bridge between Technology, Operations, and Commercial teams, you will lead high-impact technical demos, support early-stage commercial engagements, and guide clients with confidence. You will anticipate and resolve technical questions during the sales cycle, articulate product innovations in a compelling and structured manner, and ensure we present ourselves as a serious, reliable, and expert partner.

Your ability to translate complex technical capabilities into clear business value will be critical in strengthening client trust, accelerating deal closure, and elevating our market positioning.

What You'll Do

Commercial Qualification & Solution Engagement

  • Participate in qualified opportunities alongside the Business Development & Growth team, taking ownership of the technical-commercial conversation
  • Lead structured account deep-dives to understand operational, technical, and strategic client needs
  • Support opportunity qualification by assessing solution fit, complexity, and deployment requirements
  • Contribute to account penetration strategies through solution mapping and value articulation

Solution Leadership & Deal Structuring

  • Co-lead the sales cycle from discovery through contract signature, with primary ownership of the solution narrative
  • Deliver high-impact product demonstrations and technical presentations tailored to business and technical stakeholders
  • Translate client pain points into structured solution proposals, RFP responses, and commercial offers
  • Structure scalable, realistic solutions aligned with product capabilities and operational constraints
  • Support contract negotiations by providing technical clarity and scope validation

Strategic Client Advisory

  • Act as a trusted advisor, bringing credibility and structured thinking
  • Anticipate technical objections and guide clients through POCs and early deployments
  • Coordinate closely with Product Management and Product Operations teams to ensure feasibility and smooth transition to implementation
  • Identify expansion opportunities based on product adoption, performance insights, and evolving client needs
  • Elevate BPS’s market positioning by ensuring every client interaction reflects expertise, rigor, and reliability

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Track competitive landscape and market trends in the African power sector
  • Provide feedback to the Product Management team on client needs and feature requests
  • Represent BPS at conferences, trade shows, and industry forums

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Define and own the annual operating plan for the function, including workforce and financial planning
  • Manage and optimize departmental budgets
  • Make strategic resource allocation decisions
  • Build, scale, and structure teams to support long-term capability development
  • Establish performance frameworks, succession planning, and leadership development pathways
  • Ensure governance, risk management, and operational maturity across the function
  • Drive the creation of standardized, scalable systems that enable consistent execution across regions

What We're Looking For

Professional & Technical Strengths

  • B2B experience in enterprise technology or software sales, with strong exposure to solution-led or technical sales environments
  • Proven track record of delivering against revenue targets in complex sales cycles
  • Experience engaging utilities, government institutions, or large enterprise clients across African markets

Leadership & Interpersonal Strengths

  • Ability to collaborate with multicultural and geographically distributed teams
  • High degree of autonomy and accountability (we operate within a hybrid work environment)
  • Strong stakeholder leadership skills, ability to align internal teams and influence senior external decision-makers
  • High-ownership mentality with disciplined execution and strategic follow-through
  • Structured and methodical personality, bringing clarity and control to complex commercial engagements
  • Clear, persuasive communicator with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
  • Executive-level presentation and deal-closing capabilities, articulating technical solutions in compelling business and financial terms

Nice to Have

  • Experience in energy, utilities, or infrastructure sector
  • Existing network in African utilities or power sector
  • Fluency in French
