Senior Payroll Specialist:
 
Frazier & Deeter is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our growing Finance department. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will play a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations across the firm. We’re looking for someone with a positive, detail‑oriented mindset who takes pride in delivering exceptional service to our internal stakeholders and thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full payroll cycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all payroll transactions.
  • Process salaries, benefits, taxes, garnishments, and other deductions in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate all payroll reports.
  • Maintain compliance with wage and hour laws and payroll best practices.
  • Prepare and file payroll‑related tax filings and support year‑end processes.
  • Develop, document, and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Build and enhance reporting tools to streamline payroll operations and improve accuracy.
  • Provide high‑quality customer service by resolving escalated payroll issues promptly and professionally.
  • Research and resolve complex payroll matters, partnering with HR and Finance as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll and employee information.
  • Support leadership with ad hoc projects and additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5+ years of multi‑state, full‑cycle payroll experience required.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now is required.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, Macros).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • High initiative, sound judgment, and a solutions‑oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet critical deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
