Senior Product Manager (IntelliJ Platform)

The IntelliJ Platform is the foundation of JetBrains IDEs for building various development tools. It’s highly extensible, supporting many programming languages and frameworks. The platform allows developers to leverage the powerful features of JetBrains IDEs while tailoring them to their specific needs or integrating them with other tools and services. It's crucial to the development of all our existing and new IDE products.

This is a unique product that requires a bespoke approach from the Product Management team, and we are currently looking for an experienced and skilled Product Manager to support these efforts. This is an exciting opportunity to have a personal impact on the software development tools we create.

In this role, you will: 

• Extensively interact with users to identify their needs, understand their challenges, and devise appropriate solutions.
• Conduct UX and market research needed to gain insights and make informed decisions.
• Identify product metrics needed for monitoring success and making data-driven decisions.
• Generate, prioritize, and test hypotheses.
• Define and implement a product vision and strategy that aligns with the company’s overall goals and objectives.
• Develop and maintain a product roadmap that addresses short- and long-term goals.
• Build from scratch and incrementally improve the product development process.
• Work closely with developers, analysts, technical writers, developer advocates, and marketing and product managers.
• Cooperate with the authors of third-party libraries, frameworks, and tools.

• Have a technical education or experience in software development.
• Have at least five years of product management or equivalent experience.
• Have a deep understanding of product metrics.
• Are familiar with programming languages and modern software development practices.
• Are comfortable working in a highly technical domain.
• Are ready to learn how to work with and become an active user of JetBrains IDEs.
• Have leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
• Are proficient in English with strong spoken and written communication skills.
